Guidelines For Making A Grant Application

The trust supports projects engaged in the relief of human suffering in the UK and overseas – especially, but not exclusively, those with a Christian emphasis.

We tend not to get involved with research or capital funding and we are much more likely to provide a contribution towards the revenue costs of a project.

Grants are generally given to charitable organisations and not to individuals or in support of requests on behalf of individuals. Applications for building projects, personal educational requirements or personal expeditions are specifically excluded.

To make an application, apply in writing to Souter Charitable Trust, PO Box 7412, Perth, PH1 5YX.

Please keep applications brief – no more than two sides of A4. You may send audited accounts, but please do not send brochures, business plans, videos, etc. We will request more information if necessary.

The trustees meet five or six times a year and all applications will be acknowledged in due course – whether successful or not. A stamped addressed envelope would be appreciated.

All grants are made at the discretion of the trustees and their decisions are final.

Subsequent applications can be made – but no more frequently than once per year.

Copies of our annual report and accounts are available on request. We ask for an advance contribution of £10 towards administration and postage.
