ACET is the acronym for AIDS Care Education and Training – a global network of independent agencies and church-based organisations seeking to encourage effective and compassionate responses to AIDS.

Founded by influential “business thinker” Dr Patrick Dixon in 1988, member organisations provide sexual health and drug education as well as practical support to AIDS sufferers and their families around the world.

They help with bereavement, orphan support, income generation and housing support. Over the years, help has been given to more than 3,500 AIDS sufferers and more than 1000 orphans have been looked after.

AIDS education is a major activity for ACET and in Romania alone, more than 100,000 health care professionals have benefitted from ACET courses.
